Pastor Mike – “Called to Battle”
Great quote by Pastor Mike Cottrell in church this morning at Westlake as he was breaking down Matthew 16, specifically “….and on this rock I will build my church.” The word church in this sentance is the Greek work used to summons or assemble an army, with Jesus as the Commander in Chief. And here is the quote from Pastor Mike:
“If you are a Christ follower, you have been called to battle”
I’m in the Lord’s Army, Yes Sir! Thank you Lord for calling us to battle against the enemy. Open our eyes so that we might see this life for what it truly is – a battlefield of good against evil with no standing on the sideline
Community Groups
As our church enters a new phase of community groups, I wanted to share with you a video from Mars Hill Church. Everything Brad shares in this video is everything I feel about these groups. I’m so excited to be leading a group along with my wife. I’m excited to see what God is going to do, not only in our group, but every group in the church and in the community outside of the 4 walls of our church.
In the battle!

1. What did you forgive your spouse today?
2. How long have you been carrying the weight of it?
3. What are the possibilities now that youR
Love Dare Day 24: Love vs. Lust
The world is passing away, and also it lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever. I John 2:17
Today’s Dare:
End it now. Identify every object of lust in your life remove it. Single out every lie you’ve swallowed in pursuing forbidden pleasure and reject it. Lust can not be allowed to live in a back bedroom. It must be killed and destroyed -TODAY- and replaced with the sure promises of God and a heart filled with His perfect love.
1. What did you identify as an area of lust?
2. What has this pursuit cost you over time?
3. How has it led you away from the person you want to be?
4. Write a
