surf's up.
one of my favorite collections from spring was proenza schouler's take on the skate and surf culture. jack mccollough and lazaro hernandez managed to mix tailoring with tie dye and scuba elements to make clothes that real women want to wear. but in addition to the real women (including yours truly) that love the ps aesthetic, there are also the celebs and socialities that gravitate to the masculine/feminine mix they do so well.
death-defying.
i won't even get into the cover of december's harper's bazaar. suffice it to say that new moon groupies everywhere are very, very happy and based on bazaar's twitter there are probably alot of new subscribers.i was hoping the editorials would make up for the lackluster cover (although i do admit, she looks great in alexander mcqueen) and there was one standout, "fantasy fashion" by peter lindbe

go/see/buy: rachel rachel roy.
rachel roy made an appearance tonight at macy's in union square to show off her new rachel rachel roy (RRR) contemporary collection. the collection, meant to be the younger interpretation of roy's main line, is more fashion and trend forward pieces, like zippered miniskirts, chunky knits, faux fur vests, plaid blazers, and studded cocktail dresses, plus shoes, handbags, jewelry and other accessories. rachel rachel roy is set up in a cool "shop within a shop" on macys' impulse floor (where you'll also find marc by marc jacobs, nanette lepore, and deni
