Jason Pye is the former chairman of the Libertarian Party of Georgia. During his tenure, the party received its best election results and media exposure until 2008.
An active blogger, Jason developed and maintained his first blog in 2004, which has now developed into the incredibly active and constantly-updated JasonPye.com, to which many local leaders subscribe and occasionally contribute.

Why do we even have these licensing requirements?
The State of Georgia may eliminate some regulations:A funeral home in McDonough is fined $350. Why? For not having at least eight caskets in its display room.
The same month, more than 25 hair stylists are cited for practicing without a license. Same for more than a dozen contractors, three dentists and one veterinarian.
The punishments were handed out by a few of the dozens of professional licensing boards and commissions in Georgia that keep tabs on nearly every profession. All of the boards operate under the Office of the Secretary of State’s Professional Licensing Board Divisio
Blue Dogs are not ficsal conservatives
We often hear Blue Dog Democrats referred to as “fiscal conservatives” and we’re told about their concerns about the budget deficits.The guys over at National Taxpayers Union have put together a spreadsheet showing how Blue Dogs or otherwise vulnerable districts have voted on TARP, the auto bailout, the “stimulus,” the budget and ObamaCare (among a few other votes).If you live in one of these districts, I’d encourage you to support their opponent in 2010. These Blue Dogs are not fiscal conservatives.

The New York Court of Appeals ruled against a group of home and business owners yesterday who had sued to prevent a developer from working with political leaders in New York City to take private property to build a new arena for the New Jersey Nets basketball team.
