It's a BOY!!!!!!!!
We found out yesterday that our birthmom is having a boy! We are so excited we can hardly contain ourselves! We definitely have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving! For some reason, we've had a sense that it's a boy since we were matched. This picture is the first piece of clothing I've bought for our baby - and I actually bought it before we were even matched with a birthmom.
Announcement in Honor of National Adoption Day!
Since today is National Adoption Day we thought it would be exciting to announce to our friends and family that we have been chosen by a birthmom! This week American Adoptions called us to let us know that a birthmom in Florida picked us to parent her baby! We are honored and blessed to be chosen by her! It could literally happen any time. It feels really great to have done our part to make this happen, and now
Increasing our chances
Waiting patiently isn't exactly our strongest trait. So, we've decided to increase our chances and join with an adoption agency. We've spoken with several friends of friends - some who had adopted privately and some who adopted through agencies and attorneys. We found one agency that we really liked what we heard. We did our research and found a lot of good things about them and felt very comfortable with their approach, so we're signing up! We've completed most of the paperwork, and just have a few loose ends to tie up. We'll have an introductory meeting with the agency within the next week or two. While we do that, they'll be working on designing our profile. If all goes smoothly, in abou
