Welcome...
Simply ... I love to use photography to capture the essence of the person or place and create images to depict the subject as they are remembered in the mind. Not posed or unnatural, but as a window into the intimate world of the subject.
I want my images to be warm, intimate, loving and real. My desire is that the photographs I take will be the ones that are tucked into a locket, the ones in between the page of your favorite book or the ones in the frame by your bed so that you can still say "good-night" to your loved one when they are far away... |

Thomas Family Session | Adel Family Photographer
Date: November 22, 2009Location: Adel, IowaSunday was an overcast day... perfect sky for photographs! The Thomas family has a friend who owns a farm with two beautiful red barns on the property. The family friend was nice enough to let us take family photos there - and what a great back drop it made! This family was a hoot! They were full of fun... smiling, laughing, silliness... awesome. Thank you all for sharing your morning with me!
Portrait Session | Des Moines Pet Photographer
Date: November 21, 2009Location: Water Works ParkSherry met me at Water Works Park for a portrait session of her and her 4 month old Golden Retriever, Link. Link is about the CuTeSt little Golden I've ever met and VERY well behaved! Link was a bundle of fur frolicking in the tall grass, climbing on logs and making a run for me and my camera every time I was near the ground just so he could get a lick of me or my camera. It was so much fun! Thanks Sherry for sharing part of your morning with me and introducing me to your wonderful puppy!
Shields - McDole Family Session | Des Moines Family Photographer
Date: November 14, 2009Location: Jester ParkI met Layna and Ray, along with their "almost-two" daughter, on a drizzly and cloudy day at Jester Park. The rain managed to stay away the entire time we were photographing -good for the family and good for my camera! Miss "Almost-Two" was a typical little girl for her age. Full of determination to do it the way SHE wanted to and fine by me! :) Although she was determined to not have her photo taken that day, I managed to sneak a few. ;)All and all it was a great day and a great session.

Spellman Family Session | Des Moines Family Photographer
Date: November 7, 2009Location: Spellman HomeCourtney called me on Friday and said... "It's going to be a BeAuTiFuL weekend, any way you can squeeze us in?" Let me think... YES! This was a fun shoot because instead of meeting at a park, we did their portrait session at their home. It was great for the kids because it was familiar and all their favorite things were right there. When I walked in the door, their son started crying. Apparently he thought I was a babysitter. I got out my camera and took a couple of photos of him and then turned the camera so he could see the images
