Proverbs 27:26-27
Your daily
dose of Proverbs: "The
lambs will provide you with clothing . . . You
will have plenty of goats' milk to
feed you and your family . . . " - 27:26-27.
Are you worried about provision? You need not be! The Lord knows how
to provide for you and your family and for all the families under his
care. To see an example of how He once did this, read 2 Kings 4:1-7 and then be encouraged that God can do the same thing for you if you ever need it.
Proverbs 26:27
Your daily dose of Proverbs:
"If
a man digs a pit, he will fall into it; if
a man rolls a stone, it will roll back on him" - 26:27. You cannot
escape the fact that you reap what you sow. What's' more, God responds
to you the way you respond to Him! For example, if you are merciful to
others, He will be merciful to you. So in some ways, you control how
God reacts to you, once again reaping what you sow! If you need more convincing, then read Psalm 18:24-27.
Proverbs 25:21
Your daily dose of Proverbs: "If
your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink" - 25:21. You are to treat your
enemies like friends, for this is just what God does! He causes the sun
to shine on the just and the unjust. How well are you treating those
who are not only not your friends, but who also may be mistreating you?
You may want to read Jesus' instruction on how to relate to your enemies in Matthew 5:43-48.
Proverbs 24:31
Your daily dose of Proverbs:
"Thorns
had come up everywhere, the
ground was covered with weeds. . ." - 24:31. Life is a constant cycle of sowing and reaping. When you stop sowing
and tending, whether it is financial or spiritual things, the weeds
overtake your field. What are you harvesting these days? Do you have a
bumper crop of good things or a field full of weeds due to laziness and
neglect? You can read what Paul wrote about sowing and reaping in Galatians 6:7-10.
Proverbs 23:5
Your daily dose of Proverbs:
"Cast
but a glance at riches, and they are gone,
for
they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle" -
23:5. If money is your objective, you are pursuing a moving target. Jesus
urged you to store up treasure in heaven, not here on earth. Are you
using your treasure to gain true riches or is wealth your final
destination? You may want to read Jesus' words about this in Matthew 6:19-20.
