Mississippi Abandoned Part 1
Howdy, hopefully this finds you recovering from a great Thanksgiving holiday. I know I ate so much turkey I think Tryptophan is now permanently embedded in my DNA. However, fighting through the turkey induce dazed I managed to go get a bit of shooting in, and had a good time. I decided to give myself a 2 day project. This is the some of the results from the first day. I wanted to photograph only abandoned things (Buildings, Cars, etc…) The first day didn’t yield to much, but scoping out some other sites I think my 2nd day may be more productive.
Tall Drink of Water
So first off, Happy Turkey Day to all !!!! If you are not already in a Tryptophan induced coma I am sure you are on you way to it. the images are a few more I captured from this past weekend while I was out and about. Funny thing is looking at the first photo, I am curious to know what you think it may be. Honestly, I didn’t even know what it was until I walked inside of it. That last photo in the set will give it away, so scroll down if you are to curious.
Remnants
So once again a quite month on the blog, but with all the prepping for the upcoming turkey day it has been a busy one to say the least. This past weekend I had a family portrait shoot (another blog post about that coming soon) out at a location that I rarely go to anymore just because it is always so crowded you can’t enjoy the surroundings. But lucky for me it was early and cold when I was doing the shoot so there were not a lot of people around, which made it really nice for some quick shooting before the client arrived.
Happy Halloween
Wishing everyone a happy Halloween…

Reflecting on the past
One thing I love about photography is that you are capturing moments every time you press the shutter. The instant you hear that click you have captured a single moment in time, that is now everlasting.
I love history, there is a quote that if we don’t learn from our past we are doomed to repeat it in the future. From a photography stand point this is very true. Learning from past shooting is vital to growing as a photographer. Back in the day, notepads with all the details of the shot you just took would be written down, so you remembered what you did if you liked it. Now a days we have metadata that gives us all the details. One thing that I do more and more now
