Nirvana Apprentice
Rhett(3) has been nurtured to be a force.
A force to be reckoned with.
From birth he has been negotiating, manipulating, cajoling, and consoling. He has learned to be loud to be heard. He has learned to push harder to be noticed. He has learned to be fast to keep up.
And really, up to this point it was all about keeping up. Keeping up

I have two hobbies which I am a little obsessive about – poker and Rock Band. Sometimes we combine the two by hosting a home poker tournament which is followed by the losers playing Rock Band. It really takes the sting out of an early tourney exit if you are walking down the hall to be a rock star.
My husband has enabled both hobbies. He is the one that sent me to poker school. He is the one who downloads all the new Rock Band songs on their debut date. Our children are often subjected to impromptu concerts and living room rock tours.

The Kids’ Plan
Yesterday we were playing outside in the yard. As you may have gathered from my previous beaver issues, there are several places in the yard that has water.
The water isn’t deep. More like a shallow stream that may or may not be moving and a 1 foot deep pond area that is fed by a very lazy spring.
I try to keep the boys out of the water, not really for their safety, but for my sanity.
Laundry makes me crazy.
Anyway, yesterday I look over to the pond area and see only 1/2 of two of my children. I run over to get a closer look and they are perched on the rocks where their feet are just skimming the water, but they are dry.
