An Open Letter to Rupert Duchesne, President & CEO, Groupe Aeroplan
Dear Mr. Duchesne, Over the last little while, your company, Aeroplan, has managed to consistently annoy me. But the other week, Aeroplan raised the stakes and made me angry enough to write this little rant. I’ve had over two weeks to cool off, and I still feel like something needs to be said. Aeroplan has crossed the line from merely nickel-and-diming, and into anti-consumer behaviour, in my books. 2nd Draft
Ostensibly this blog is supposed to be oriented more towards my writing. But a look back over the past few months shows I haven’t blogged about my latest novel in a while. Since January, in fact. Why? The truth is I’ve struggled mightily to push through to a second draft. I had a huge crash after the Viable Paradise workshop in Sept. 2008. Don’t get me wrong, it was a great workshop, and I learned TONS. But for various reasons, my faith in the story was shaken by my experience there. Our cat got put on a special diet by the vet recently, but after years of watching him wolf down kibble of almost any type, little did I know that he was a finicky eater. I should have clued in the day he turned his nose up at fresh fish. Now that he must convert over to wet food, we’ve got a battle of wills on our hands.
