Tips for Brides (and grooms!) #2
Recently, I was talking on the phone with Kristy, a bride who's wedding I will be photographing in March, and we were scheduling her engagement session. She told me she was nervous about the photos because her fiance Kevin gets a little camera shy. Kristy said she loves the laughter and the fun I capture in other couples photos and really wanted that photojournalistic "unforced" look for her session as well. I assured her that I shoot a TON of pictures and we laugh a lot while we shoot. My goal is to capture the moments in between "poses". Sure, you might not want a photo of you laughing hysterically, mouth wide open at something I've said (although I must admit
Sarah & Brad - Part 2 : Paradise Gardens Wedding
Sarah and Brad's love is the quiet kind. It flows between them softly and gently when they're near each other. It's almost as if you listened close enough you could hear it. They were calming to be around. It's such a wonderful thing to find that kind of peace in someone else. We had a flawless day that flowed just as easily. It was so hard to choose my favorites but here are a few! Thank you for trusting me and allowing me to be there with you while you soaked each other in on such a fabulous day!
Sarah & Brad - Part 1
I truly loved Sarah & Brad's wedding. I'm so so excited to share the images with you. But I wanted to start out by introducing you to Sarah & Brad's florist: Cherry Blossom Floral Designs. In a word: WOW. Kiyoko and Dorothy totally rocked it out on Sarah & Brad's florals. I showed up at Paradise Gardens about half an hour early. I can't help it. I'm insanely early for everything I do in life. There's nothing worse than feeling anxious and rushed before a wedding. I think it's an awful way to start the day off. So there I was, way early, and pretty much all of the flowers were set a
Mallory & Travis - Santee Lakes Wedding
Mallory and Travis were married on a beautiful November afternoon in front of their closest friends and their families. True to San Diego, we had beautiful sunny weather. Mallory and Travis are both kind, easy-going people and the day reflected it. They were married, then we wandered around taking photographs before sitting down to a delicious dinner under a huge canopy of trees. The day was stress-free and perfect. Thank you Mallory and Travis.. and thanks to your families and friends as well for laughing at all of my silly jokes and welcoming me with open arms. And a big thank you as well to my dear friend Peggy and Travis' father Richard, for referring me.
Tips for Brides (and grooms!) #1
I was talking with a friend recently about wedding photography and how fun it is to experience all of the elaborate decor, little details, song choices, hysterical toasts, garter retrieval pranks and so forth. I have a plethora of ideas for my own somewhere-in-the-future (no I'm not engaged yet) wedding. I've also been there, behind the scenes when things haven't gone as smoothly as everyone would have hoped. It's usually little things, not deal breakers. But most of them could have been avoided if only *insert what you wish you had done the day/week before the wedding here*. I am ALL about planning ahead. And it's easy to plan when you know what to plan for! But you,
