| Description: | My blog can be goofy or serious. I'm trying to get Stephen Colbert to invite me on his show. I'm known in some circles as the "Dr. Ruth of Ornithology," and think Stephen needs some tips on how to explain to Young Stephen the facts of life before the poor eagle is forced to pick them up on the street. My Rachel Carson book is 101 Ways to Help Birds. I wrote it when I was exactly the age she was when she wrote Silent Spring, and my working title for it was "Resounding Spring." I tried to pack into it every single thing that we could do to actually help birds in our everyday lives. One day I want to meet my favorite singer on the planet, Paul Simon, and my heartthrob, Bob Balaban. |
