Liberty Stoneware is the studio name of potter Brenda Hornsby Heindl. She is a functional potter working primarily in stoneware. She trained in the Ceramics Apprenticeship Program at Berea College, and is a graduate of the Winterthur Program in American Material Culture. Her pottery is heavily influenced by research and work with historic ceramics. She has recently received a grant from the American Ceramic Circle to study American stoneware kilns, and hopes to also use this as a forum for some of her research.
