It is often said that great players do not often make great coaches. Clearly there are some notable exceptions across all sports but there does seem to be a greater proportion who fail to make the grade. The question for England rugby fans this morning is which group does Martin Johnson fall under? He has had control of the England team for a year now and, apart from the false dawn of the France game in last seasons Six Nations, progress has been slow at best – and many would say non-existent. To say this is all the fault of Johnson would be wrong – I actually think he is the right man for the job but, and it’s a big but, he needs to have the rig
