It’s all in the details
Sorry for the short hiatus.. I’ve been back in Massachusetts for Thanksgiving, but now I’m back in sunny Phoenix with a shiny new blog post… I thought going home was going to be super strange, since I’ve been here in the desert for four months, but what I noticed was that all of the change back in good ol’ Agawam, Massachusetts was all in the details. It felt normal to get off the plane in Hartford and be surrounded by the crisp fall New England air. It felt normal to have my dad pick me up. Then the little details started to stand out which finally made me realize, I haven’t been home in 4 months. Tricia has bangs. Kayl
I just can’t turn it off.
Let me set the scene for you: Downtown Phoenix, Friday night, a bar/restaurant called Nine 05. There are about 10 of us grad students, and we just can’t turn it off. By “it” I mean journalism. It has become impossible to turn it off. Finally, a group picture. But of course we're missing a few people. Now let me explain why: While at said bar, we’re outside enjoying the beautiful A
The Skin Test
Remember Spring’s sniff test? Well now, I give you… Erin’s “skin test.” Erin's Skin Test The skin test is basically this: Erin believes that when you meet the right guy, your pheromones and hormones come into perfect harmony and subsequently, your skin will be clear and glowing with happiness. It’s such a fun idea, just beware.. if your skin isn’t glowing, you may be dating the wrong man. The skin test was just one highlig
Sunday Funday
School can get very stressful, especially near the end of the semester. It’s always good to have one day of the week that can be called “funday”. As a grad student I don’t really have time to dedicate a whole day to not worrying about school, but it was nice to take Sunday morning to go hiking and not worry about upcoming assignments. Rebecca and I went hiking on South Mountain, and we plan to make this a weekly event! The weather was perfect, the trail was not too hard but not too easy, and it was so peaceful and pretty cool to see the city from a distance. I love the different landscape here in the Southwest as compared to New Eng
First Friday: Ghostbuster Style.
First Fridays are a staple in Phoenix. The first Friday of every month, downtown streets are lined with local artists and various other people. This First Friday, Rebecca, Alyssa and I explored the vibrant streets. And what we found were Ghostbusters! Who you gonna call? GHOSTBUSTERS!! These Ghostbusters are actually part of a charity for MS. They’re doing a big walk for MS through Phoenix today. They were great and lots of fun to take a picture with!
