IKEA Kicks The Shit Out Of The Competition?
The strange thing, though, is Gordon only has 700+ friends, 13 photos in the album, 280 comments and 92 tags.  Plus, the whole thing is in Swedish. Is this just another example of sites like Creativity Online and Mashable being able to create hype where, maybe, it’s not yet merited? IKEA store manager, Gordon Gustavsson (Via
N.A.S.A. and TOM WAITS, Man
This is the right god damn mashup of different genres if there ever was one. Spacious Thoughts, brought to you by the ‘dreamin of love on a barstool’ homeboy, Tom Waits and the ’shit it don’t get no better than this shit’ genius that is N.A.S.A.
HIP-HOP HALL OF FAME gets 10 mil
Unfunded for 17 years, “J-Train” Thompson’s Hip-Hop Hall of Fame is finally opening it’s doors in mid-town Manhattan in 2010. (I’d give you a link, but damn if I can find one) The project probably took so long because the very people (artists) who would gladly throw money at an idea like this could not because of conflicting interests.  You want to be a hall of famer, not a benefactor, and I’m pretty sure the rules say you can’t be both. Not that 10 million is that much money.  Is it really enough to open up a museum in mid-town?  And who is the benefactor, anyway?  No one’s saying.
#MusicHackDay at Microsoft NERD
Music Hack Day was by far the coolest event I’ve gone to so far at Microsoft NERD in Cambridge. Not just software hacking of existing music platforms, but mechanical hacking, too, with tables set up for workshops in creating DIY transistors, Atari Punk Console and depending on your skill level, what ever you wanted.
