Url: http://www.maraspires.com
Language: English

Description: First and foremost, Mara Spires is a single mother of 2 adult children & 1 teenager. She is a full time blogger, web developer, and entrepreneur residing in the Pacific Northwest. Her predominant areas of interest lie in the arts [music, graphic/web design, photography, writing]. When she's not busy creating, she likes to spend time with family and friends, watch movies, ride her spiffy little one-speed cruiser, work in her yard, go the beach...and a multitude of other regular stuff. Mara has a special interest in personal development and the empowerment of women. She produces content on a broad range of topics such as recovery, relationships, spirituality, and various visual arts. Mara's relentless pursuit of personal growth began after pleading guilty to felony assault charges related to a domestic dispute with an abusive partner. Life as she knew it came to a screeching halt. After serving a 90-day jail sentence, she made a solid commitment to seek healing for herself and her family. Mara has become one of the most growth-oriented individuals you'll ever encounter. Strengthening her inter-personal relationships with women has been one of her most successful strategies during this process. She is a strong member of her local recovery community and has taken an active role in guiding women on the same path.

As a mother of two at-risk young men, I am compelled to give kudos to some of the Holy Hip Hop artists I’ve been listening to lately.  While on an aggressive hunt for positive music, I found a really good podcast on iTunes by Rapzilla.com and another from Reach Records, who is the label of my very first favorite HHH artist, Lecrae. More is being revealed to me, friends.  I’m finally making the connection between the messages I’ve been listening
