Description: This is a blog about the Catholic heritage of Monmouthshire or the Country of Gwent. This was the cradle of Christianity in Britain. It welcomed Joseph of Arimathea who landed here, had the first Martyrs Saints Julius and Aaron and even produced Pope Linus, the second pope, who was the younger son of Caractacus of the Silures dragged to Rome after his defeat, but already Christianised. I visit out of the way places and take photos and also put in aspects of Catholic piety , holy wells and prayers. Some catechesis.Nearing end of first Millennium.
