Kids these days...
There’s nothing quite like a conversation with a kid to shed new light on things. The one I had recently with my 8-year-old son brought into focus two things: the world has indeed changed a lot since I was 8 and – sigh – I’m getting old.The conversation started when my son picked up a golf ball bearing a logo from a place I used to work. I proudly explained to him it was from a golf tournament I coordinated several years ago as a fundraiser.“But did you make a website and put it on the Internet and make it a national tournament?” he asked.“Well no…” I replied. I thought raising over $25,000 was accomplishment enough. My mistake.“Why not?”

9/11. Perhaps no other two numbers juxtaposed will conjure up as much meaning as those two; at least for the larger part of our country’s population and even a good number of those from other lands.
