it's not always easy...
... but I'm still trying. My gratitude challenge may be officially completed, but I have an echo of that thought still bouncing around my head. Like yesterday, after I started up some laundry and decided that sure, I could grab a shower even though the kids were all a bit hyped up. Just a quick shower- no biggie. Not more than a minute or two in, this is the scenario I find myself in:Very low water pressure with lukewarm (but quickly cooling even more) water raining down on me. (sprinkling down on me, more like it), accompanied by random screaming from Red, "No no no no!

This week, the radio bookmark got worked hard, because there were things left and right that I wanted to either share or try to listen to at a later time, hopefully with less of the background-kid-cacophony that accompanies most of my waking hours. Here are some of the NPR highlights from the week:* Place a box of tissues near your computer before you listen to this heart-wrenching Story Corps piece: "A Son's Premonition, and a Final Baseball Game". I'm at a loss for words about this story, just filled with sadness and awe and gratitude.* The Kojo

Oh, the joys that my friend Leslie sends along my email way. This week I have a couple to share with you that made me giggle as usual! First comes one of those emails that makes you think and nod along in agreement, and the other hits you in the heart and makes you consider opening your home to an animal in need... at first...Random Thoughts for the Day1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.3. gotta love when silly shows make you think
I was a late pickup on a particular bandwagon earlier this year, but I climbed aboard at the beginning of the regular TV season. And now I have to admit to being a gigantic lover of this show, anxiously counting down the hours each Wednesday until my television is lit up with abnormally beautiful "teenagers" and the power of song and dance. No denying it, Glee is at the top of my TV list.
I was a late pickup on a particular bandwagon earlier this year, but I climbed aboard at the beginning of the regular TV season. And now I have to admit to being a gigantic lover of this show, anxiously counting down the hours each Wednesday until my television is lit up with abnormally beautiful "teenagers" and the power of song and dance. No denying it, Glee is at the top of my TV list.
