Memphis church's film seeks healing in North America's racial hotbed
"Love and forgiveness, that's what it's about." This is how Academy Award winner Louis Gossett Jr. describes The Grace Card, a movie currently filming in Memphis and a project of the Memphis Calvary Church of the Nazarene. The church usually puts on an ambitious Easter program, but opted to support the film instead this year. Church members help with everything from carpentry to catering on the set in this evangelistic endeavor.
Faith for water in Swaziland
For many people across Africa, life revolves around the daily challenge of finding enough clean water for basic needs. This is the case in many places in Swaziland, especially the rural areas where large water sources have not been developed. Because of the strong faith exhibited by many, twelve Nazarene clinics and communities will receive a solar water system with associated water harvesting and sanitation systems during the remainder of 2009 and early 2010. Each system is to serve the clinic, the school, and church on the mission station, and the community, providing water to gardens operated by HIV support groups initiated by Swaziland's Nazarene HIV/AIDS Task Force.
