Patriots Lead AFC East With 6-2 Record; Defeat Dolphins 27-17
You never know quite what to expect when you match up the Miami Dolphins against the New England Patriots regardless of the season or what the team’s records are when they play. The only thing you can usually count on is a somewhat exciting game and the contest Sunday at Gillette Stadium would fit into that description. The Dolphins hung tough for three quarters and did not go down without putting up a battle. However after Miami took a lead in the third quarter Patriots quarterback Tom Brady connected with r
Warner Throws Five TD’s as Cardinals Pound Bears 41-21
All season long the Cardinals have been better on the road than at home. That trend stayed true on Sunday in Chicago, as a huge first half for Kurt Warner paved the way for a big Cards 41-21 win over the slumping Bears. Warner threw four first half TDs, and ended the day 22-for-31 for 261 yards with five scores and a QB rating of 135.9. The Cards improve to 5-3 on the season, and rebounded nicely after their loss at home a week ago to the Carolina
Turner’s Big Day Leads Atlanta Over Washington 31-17
The Falcons all season long had been waiting for Michael Turner to get back to the form of 2008. It may have taken 9 weeks, but Sunday at home vs the Redskins, “The Burner” was indeed back to form. Turner blasted his way for 166 yards on 18 carries, a 9.2 yard per carry average and two scores as the Falcons topped the struggling Washington Redskins 31-17 at home. The win for Atlanta breaks their two-game losing streak as they improve to 5-3 on the season.
Bears DT Tommie Harris Tossed Four Plays Into Sunday’s Game
Bears defensive tackle Tommie Harris was ejected from Sunday’s game against Arizona after just 65 seconds of play for slugging Cardinals offensive tackle Deuce Lutui. At the end of an Arizona running play, Harris and Lutui ended up on the ground and a replay showed Harris hitting Lutui near the face. The Bears got a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and Harris got a quick shower after referee Ed Hochuli announced he had slugged Lutui and was ejected.
