Unlike a lot of others who have that drive to know, Andy also has a drive to apply. He is right now working on a project that he simply won't tell me a lot about yet, but the hints he's dropped, both in his blog and in an email or two, leave me with that 8 year old at Christmas kind of energetic, barely contained anxiousness. Fairly Useless Feedburner Google Analytics Update
Feedburner apparently has integrated analytics with Google Analytics… woopie doo I suppose it makes things simpler for people who weren’t already doing something similar for feeds, and at least they are segregating clicks between email and RSS, something their competitors for RSS > Email such as Aweber, Feedburner, Mailchimp etc have been able to do for a long time. What they can’t do is track RSS signups as a goal, and until they can do that from a marketing perspective RSS is fairly useless. Google Reader is also still misbehaving – even if you us

Friday 13th – A Very Bad Day for Comment Spammers
Nice search engine friendly links are a great way to reward valuable members of the community of any blog, but they are certainly not a right, and still find myself deleting 50+ worthless comments every day. Most disturbing of all though are the SEO consultants and agencies who I have caught commenting on behalf of their clients, or as themselves with a link through to a client’s site. Some of them are totally dumb about it. I now have a new comments policy in force though most of it is just a clearer interpretation of what has been in place for the last 3+ years.
