Where to try the terrorist suspects
I have a "modest" proposal for the terrorist trials of the detainees held at Guantanamo Bay. There are many security issues with bringing these people to New York City. The issue of the wounds of 9/11 are still lingering in the minds of many New Yorkers as well. So why not take them to some other venue like say...a warship??I dont know if its legal or not but it would solve the security problem .It would also take a lot of presure off the New York police department. The trial could be shown by cameras on the ship and beamed back to shore. The exact location of the ship could be kept a secret as well during the trial. Its highly unlikely anyone would attack say a battleship.
Back in the saddle...
Sorry I have been away for a couple of weeks!! Work has been crazy and we all know how that goes. So much has gone on recently in the world of politics that its hard to know where to begin. First off the bow heard around the world. Unlike many of my conserative brethren, I do not see the big deal about Obama bowing to another foreign
What we should take away from the Ft Hood shootings
The tragic events at Ft Hood will stick in our collective consciousness for some time. Its hard to make sense of the reasons for such a terrible tragedy. Even harder to discern is what we should learn from the shootings. One immediate lesson jumps out at us right away. We need to do a better job of screening our military personnel especially in terms of psychological evaluations. Some military leaders and former soldiers such as Allen West (R-Fla) have suggested that the enemy is infiltrating our ranks. This
AFL-CIO leader says no new jobs until 2012
So now the head of the AFLCIO says it will be be 2012 before we start seeing job growth. When do the liberals run out of lies and deceptions regarding the economy? Unemployment finally went over 10% which many liberals said would not happen and now the leader of one of the most influential labor unions in the country says no jobs in 2010 or 2011 are coming. Its times like this I wish we had a recall for the President of the United States.
What we can learn from the election
The main message that we conservatives can take away from last night is that the liberal "base" only shows up when Obama is on the ballot. Once all the numbers are in, its likely that turnout was low among Democrats. These same people came out in droves last year for Obama but in an off year election where Obama is not on the ballot, they are nowhere to be found.Independents voted according to the issues and the candidates and since no one was running against George Bu- err John McCain this time, the election for them was about who would do the best job. Clearly they thought it was the GOP.Liberals today are making a big deal about the NY-23 congressional race but le
