The ramblings of a suburban, minivan-driving, later-30-something mom. Kiddo became a part of our family the same way I became part of mine - through domestic, independent adoption. We live in upstate NY, though I'm originally a Jersey Girl. I grew up on a working farm (as NJ is the Garden State, after all). In my pre-SAHM life, I worked for a nonprofit agency in vocational rehabilitation for people with disabilities. As a SAHM for 8 years, I worked at mastering the art of Play-Doh sculpture, relearning the names of all the dinosaurs and getting reacquainted with Dr. Seuss and the Disney canon. I returned to the paid workforce this year with a part-time secretarial (whoops, I mean *administrative assistant*) gig. I’m co-chair of the PTSA, class mom, Brownie Troop leader... yeah, I'm one of *those* moms. I read 3 or 4 books a week, watch too much TV, don't get out to see nearly as many movies as I did in the pre-Kiddo days and spend a lot of time hanging out on the internet.
