Jays re-sign John McDonald
The Toronto Blue Jays have re-signed slick fielding shortstop John McDonald to a 2 year 3 million dollar deal. The 35 year old has spent 4.5 seasons with the Blue Jays giving the team a solid defensive threat off the bench. McDonald hit .258 with 4HR and 13RBI in 151 at bats this past season.

Cleaning up the 40 man
The Toronto Blue Jays outrighted a trio from the 40 man roster today with C Kyle Phillips, LHP Davis Romero and LHP Bill Murphy being removed from the 40 man. Phillips and Murphy both made brief appearances with the Jays in 2009 but are considered little more than depth at this point in their careers.
