Parent Teacher Conference
On Friday was the Parent Teacher conference for Laurie.Wasn't sure how it was going to go, because the whole morning started out quirky. Kayla wouldn't wake up and I had to put her on the bus half-asleep. I forgot to bring my canvas bags when I went food shopping. I got the wrong free turkey and had to run to the back of the store to get the right one. The AutoPay on my Pay-As-You-Go Verizon phone didn't go through, so not only did I have no cell service when I was out, I had to pay manually online, AND they erased my previous $65 balance because the phone had expired! ARGHHHHH!!! (and yes, I sent an email out requesting my $65 back since THEY screwed it up.)
Book Blues
Today while I was volunteering at Laurie's school's Book Fair, one of the Kindergarten teachers was writing up her wish list. I mentioned that I had a large box of books that Laurie is too old for....and then mentally broke down. (nothing serious, mind you, just some mindless babbling and ho
Morning Mayem, Mini Vacay, Much To Do
MMMMMMM, where to start....This morning Kayla was just goofing off and not eating breakfast. I kept telling her that she had to eat her waffle because she had to go to school on the bus soon. But every time I handed her the waffle, she'd yell "NOOOOOO!" and throw it.Of course, when it was time to go, she was sitting on the couch munching on her waffle! As I was pulling her towards the stairs, she complained "EEEE WA! EEEE WA!" And I told her "It's time to wait for the bus! I told you to eat your waffle earlier!"She replied by giving me a big loud raspberry noise. Obviously she understan
Digital Artist
Laurie's been playing with the Paint program on the computer. She really enjoys it. Hmmmm, maybe it's time we moved on to a new art program! Any suggestions for a kid-friendly computer art program? Don't think she's ready for Photoshop yet, LOL. Although she has been making PowerPoint presentations in school! (Laurie's titles for her artworks)Crazy Spaghetti and MeatballsUnder the SeaOter Space
Oh-Uh & Joint Popping
Kayla has a new word. She came in the kitchen this morning saying "oh-uh, oh-uh, oh-uh". Huh? Then "EEEEE oh-uh, EEEEE oh-uh". Know what she wanted? DONUTS! Gah. Chocolate ones, of course, she wasn't interested in the powdered sugar ones, even though she kept pulling them off the counter (the chocolate ones are in the fridge). We don't usually even have donuts in the house, but there was a sale at the supermarket, so we got them as a treat. Now we have donut monster!Kayla's PT called the other day about how Kayla "pops" her knees or ankles when she is upset. She does it a lot during yoga. (I guess Kayla doesn't like yoga. Isn't yoga supposed to be relaxing?) I hate usi
