The good, the bad
The good: We picked up our nice fresh 13-pound turkey today, and I'm having a nice glass of wine.The bad: I tripped over a toy and twisted my ankle today, and Sammy bombed out of a playdate due to that whole "I might miss you" thing rearing its head again. Oy.

Alice had a really rough day yesterday -- she was pretty much flat on the couch, nibbling on crackers and puking every hour or so, from 9 am until 7 pm. She finally turned the corner and started to feel normal around bedtime, and today she's weak and tired but much more functional. This evening we managed to get out and get our Thanksgiving groceries -- enough stuff to make turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy,
Conference crud
It's looking like a nasty bug is on the rampage through our conference committee -- I've got report of at least four five families hit with gastrointestinal symptoms, and unfortunately we're one of the four five*. Alice started puking this morning while she was trying to take her shower, and she's thrown up another few times since then. Supposedly it's a pretty fast-moving bug, though; people who started feeling bad last night seem to be feeling better this afternoon, so hopefully Alice is almost done.* I heard about another case while I was typing that sentence.No school for either kid today (obviously) or tomorrow, which takes us
Apropos of nothing...
I wanna name my next pet "Mr. Whatsisface".(I'm home from the conference and completely wiped. Will try to post more interestingly, even if it's just an amalgamation of the Facebook posts I made over the weekend, tomorrow.)

I am at the conference and doesn't seem to have forgotten anything. Of course, it's still early times -- plenty of places for disaster to strike yet!! I am waiting for Diana West's talk on "Surprising Causes of Low Milk Production" to start...
