Precious Support
People ask, what does a campaign feel like?
It feels like a huge mountain of sand grew up in our backyard and it’s our job to remove it. But our only tools are teaspoons, not serving spoons, not even soup spoons. Thinking about the job ahead of us, I despair until I go to our window. Our neighbors and friends are already attacking the mountain with shovels, a few with bulldozers. Political Sustenance
From the November 24th issue of the Houston Chronicle:
Houston Mayor Bill White’s wife, Andrea, served the visiting ambassadors sandwiches… as several hours of discussion set the stage for Monday’s announcement that White is considering switching from a run for the U.S. Senate to a bid for Democratic nomination for Governor.

Blogger’s Block
Writer, Julia Cameron in the Complete Artist’s Way has this to say on writer’s blocks,
In the movie Raging Bull, Jake La Motta’s brother urges him to fight an unknown opponent, “‘If you win, you win, and if you lose, you win.’” Cameron concludes, “It is always that way with taking risks….very often a risk is worth taking simply for the sake of taking it….Selecting a challenge and meeting
