BackpackingLight Hane Tenkara Fly fishing Rod
The new Tenkara fishing rod co-designed by Ryan Jordan of Backpackinglight.com is available to order here. This is a limited edition model, designed with the needs of ultralight backpackers in mind. It’s 77g, and can also be used as a shelter support or extension (apparently – not sure I’ll be trying that with a Mid). I can see a use for this in the UK, I’ve certainly been past several tempting mountain-top lochans in my time, but lacking the ability to cook anything I may catch, I can’t see it benefitting me much! I’m still not sure how Alpacka managed to send it out without one, and how it still hadn’t arrived well over a week after Colin reported it, but c’est la vie. Luckily it’s a standard 3/4″
