| Description: | POUR - A Foundation was created to meet the needs of single parents living and working in the greater Athens area who are teetering on the edge of becoming the ‘working poor’. These are typically the people who fall through the cracks of society’s ’safety net’. They make just enough to get by, but not enough for emergencies. They make too much to get help from the government, but not enough to make sure their kids have health insurance. We are concerned citizens who want to help, but can’t take on the burden of an entire family. We also know that a little can go a long way. Your pennies and my nickles combined with someone else’s quarters or dollars…can add up to serious change. We can change the lives of those around us - if we all give a little. There will always be opportunites to give of your time, your talent and your treasure. Have an extra $25 this month, great! Have an extra 2 hours, we can find a place to put it to good use! Can you cook a meal, swing a hammer, babysit or read to children? We have a place for you to POUR into someone’s life - right here, right now. It’s our time to POUR back into our community! |
