Maddow: Democratic women will REVOLT over Stupak-Pitts if it is not removed in Conference
On Meet The Press today, Rachel Maddow made a point that should NOT be overlooked by Democrats in the House and Senate who wish to remian in their elected offices in 2010 and beyond, and that is the fact that if the Stupak-Pitts C Street anti abortion amendment in the House version of Health Care Reform is NOT removed if/when the bill goes to Conference to be merged with the Senate bill, there will be MASSIVE blowback for the Democratic party from it's female base.

The Ballad of Artur Davis (D+18) and AL-07 No on HCR Vote
Much has been made over the last 12 hours on the vote made by Artur Davis (AL-07) (D+18) and his vote against the health care reform bill.
The bottom line : Davis is currently running for Governor of the State of Alabama and did not believe that he could justify a yes vote in his ambition for 2010.
However, Artur Davis was elected as a Congressman for the 7th Congressional District for his 4th term in 2008. He has a duty to represent his constituency which is one of the poorest, most unemployed and most uninsured in the entire country. He failed that constituency last night and likely miscalculated in his belief that he would not lose voters in his base. I
Without Blue Dog Support: HCR Would Have Failed
Much has been made of the Blue Dog Democrats and their general lack of support for health care reform and the public option. Well they came through tonight as 53% voted for HCR
Of course the Alabama Blue Dogs : Bobby Bright and Parker Griffith were not a part of the group that voted for passage of the health care bill. Neither was Artur Davis (D +18) although not a Blue Dog. I'm very disappointed in all three of these Congressman.
