Stuffed!
That’s right dammit. THIS week, I had Quizmaster in training Ian there on the stage at Sellwood Public House to amuse and delight the ladies in the crowd. AND I would just like to point out to MOSTLY CONFUSED from last week, that my dear apprentice Ian mispronounced TWO words that *I* in fact corrected him on. Lepidopterist for one. I knew that word. Yep, totally knew it. *ahem* There really is something to be said for seeing a word and not saying it out loud at the same time you’re reading it. It’s strange how that works. I might have tirpped up on it given the oppurtuntiy to read it myself, however, since I was reading over dear Ian’s shoulder, I man
Beer & Number 37
Let’s face it, we wouldn’t have Thanksgiving without it. Beer. Those Pilgrims ran out and needed to stop for more, so they came here, slayed all the indigenous people and made BEER! Yeah Beer. Boo Death. As for that number mentioned above, 37, that’s for Scooby’s Red Rocket. They have what you might call a “Lucky” number. Before our final question was an ANSWER, it used to be a number, and the closest team to that number walked away with 50 points, and often, cash. Scooby’s always had a go-to number. That number was 37.
I am Thankful for Turducken.
The fact that John Madden eats a Turducken every year on Thanksgiving makes me smile. It’s so absurd and inane, it can only happen in this country. It’s something that we should all truly be thankful for.
Tonight’s quiz at the Gypsy was pretty low key, a small yet furious group of quizzers fought the hard fight. Using the thought of their future meals of tryptophan, Team Wolverine was able to squeeze out a victory and claiming their first Championship belt of the Winter. Good Job Wolverine, all the extra practice has finally paid off!
Join us next week. The fate of the world may just be at stake. Especially if Nic Cage has anything to say about it.
Gobble Gobble Gobble
..translated as thank you for a great location and awesome pub quizzers!!
We had a good crowd, ready to feast on a meaty quiz. We had a new team, Prego, show up to win the bingo and take an early lead. The Turduckens were in 2nd and Slapsgiving sat on the bottom, like the sludge in the bottom of the roasting pan. After round 2, though, with a 100% on the Quizlinks, Slapsgiving managed to claw over the top of the Turduckens, Hangover & a Pineapple AND Hurtin’ Unit. Way to go, Slapsgiving!! Well played.
Slapsgiving narrowed the gap between them and Prego to stay in 2nd. Well, nobody knew the challenge round question…leaving Prego to take all the wh
Today I am Thankful for
An awesome place like CC Slaughter’s to host a quiz. The crowds may be somewhat lighter, the boys may not know all the sports questions, and the Bar Team may, in fact, gather some help from the random drinker as they pass through Monday night Quiz town, but I gotta tell you boys and girls, it’s the funnest bestest Pub Quiz a girl could have. ”It’s like family” someone said to me on the street tonight as they were coming into the quiz. And this, yes, I have to agree with. It’s like family you WANT to spend time with on the holidays. That family that you create and nurture, not the nut-jobs that just show up to grab some cash and argue with you about
