| Description: | Radical dissent entails opposition to the dominant racist establishment and a struggle against the systems of oppression embedded in society. It denotes a desire for sweeping change. Non-conformism to the oppressive social structures that enslave human agency to the interests of an amoral elite. Resistance is the precondition for radical dissent, representing an active and critical engagement with the social reality. Resistance is the most Human response in face of tyranny. An antidote to the defeated soul, a statement of existence. Adherence to this outlook stems from the recognition that the current oppressive social order is the product of centuries of exploitation by white racists, their settler inheritors and native collaborators. Liberalism has been exploited to justify empire built on political domination and on the dehumanization of the subjugated class. The “white man’s burden to civilize the world” did not end with Wilson’s commitment to self-determination, still present in the incessant wars waged by the so-called “civilized world” against the “wretched of the earth” (as Fanon would call them). And so, radical dissent has been criminalized by the dominant elite and romanticized by orientalists. The state-entity legitimized its authority through a legal framework selectively applied in the service of a powerful capitalist minority. Liberal democracy exists only within this framework, intolerant to the reality outside its realm. Thus, the disempowered, victims of the system, resort to their collective power to reassert their humanity. Often called ”barbarians”, “uncivilized” or simply the undifferentiated ”brown people”, they are united for their desire for liberation from centuries of domination. The discussions in this blog aim to expose and act upon this reality, making a minor contribution, in this way, to the global resistance. |
