We at Radio Exile realize that music is a self-healing medium; when the life seeps out of popular music, there is always a new sound to revitalize it. Radio Exile aims to inform independent thinkers what's "next" and what they can't live without.
In the past, Radio Exile has not only interviewed Jeff Buckley's mother Mary Guibert, the Kaiser Chiefs and many emerging acts, but our efforts have culminated in back-to-back Top Ten finishes in the BT Digital Music Awards for Top Music Blog (9th place this year after a 6th place finish in 2007).
Radio Exile focuses on finding music that is "off-the-radar" and underappreciated by mainstream music fans, connecting them with like-minded individuals eager to change the landscape of popular media. |

Noah and the Whale – The First Days of Spring Review
There are a few great film/album mashups. Two of the more obvious ones are Wizard of Oz/Dark Side of the Moon and Toy Story/OK Computer synchronizations. But rare is the instance of finding a film inspired by and created completely in an album’s image – an album that stands alone, but also perfectly scores said film. Noah and the Whale accomplish this with t
At Least We All Have Hooks For Hands
South Dakota indie-rockers We All Have Hooks For Hands [MySpace] have a new album coming out November 17th: The Shape Of Energy. This following track is one that I can’t stop listening to this morning, “Made Up Of Tiny Lights”. After an exhaustive search (read: I was sent an email), I found this great live performance that I w
Bishop Allen Share “True or False” Video
When I think Bishop Allen [MySpace], I have to admit I usually don’t think dancing go-go girls, but after this video, I might. The latest video from Grrr…, “True or False”, features the lead vocals of Darbie Nowatka Rice and if the black and white clip doesn’t make you think of a kinder and gentler time (ironically during the Cold War), then you have either no so
[Juan's Basement] Wild Beasts – “Hooting and Howling”
Wild Beasts [MySpace] are the latest band to perform in “Juan’s Basement”. I am still quite mad that Pitchfork got the show to themselves, but they are a BIT bigger, right? Their latest album is a big ol’ slice of rad entitled Two Dancers (and we’ve given you a peek at their live stuff before), so you
Video Hook-Up: Bangs – “Take U To Da Movies”
Don’t call me insensitive for having a laugh at the hopes and dreams of an aspiring artist, but this cat Bangs [Official] really sucks. I don’t care if he’s from another country, so is Akon and he doesn’t totally suck, I just don’t listen to him. Bangs, however, sucks in a way that makes you want to root for him. He’s funny and quirky and has does that “rapping foreig
