Eid in East London (South Africa)
The last ten days of Ramadan seemed to have been a blur – I think they went by faster than the rest of the month! The university mid semester breaks are much less a holiday and more like a study or catch up week. Before University even opened I was busy with essays and preparing work for the coming week. I often feel this occupies so much of my time that I lose out but we should be using the month to learn how to bring about good balance in our lives for the rest of the year. Tuesday night we slept early so that Wednesday night we could stay awake in prayer.  The MSA was already busy organising an Eid lunch for the students that were staying in Gtown. Eid in The Hague (& later Copenhagen)
Eid in The Hague After the iftaar and whirling dervish on Friday, I headed to find a mosque to pray in with some other friends. I met with Asma, a Dutch woman who stars in a local TV show “Girls of Halal”, and Zana from Sweden who is an organizer of major Islamic and other events. Well, waited for it to disappear beyond the horizon and then whipped out the tupperware of pies that my wife had equipped me with – there were loads there, shared it with fellow passenger and there was still left over. And that was only the first of two tupperwares.I then felt really guil
Wishing all our readers EID Mubarak
Assalamulaikum Brothers and sisters, Once again another ramadan is coming to an end and with that we have the Joyous occasion of EID, however i am sure most of you will miss ramadan. The feeling most of us feel during this month does match any other month of the year. It is a feeling of joy, peace and tranquility.  I believe this is due to us making the effort for Salaah and fasting. Insha-Allah, this will continue after Ramadan. This year there has been a ton of debate on this site, for example the issue about the ‘30 day muslim’. The way i see it, rather have the 30 day muslim than the no muslim at all, IA we will be guided. During Ramadan in 2003, i k
