Unfortunately, the holiday has taken on an unfortunate noun-like aura that is less thankful, and more filling. Huge Thanksgiving feasts are often seen as Ayn Rand — capitalism's philosopher-saint — perceived them: "a symbol of the fact that abundant consumption" is our reward.
