Florida Lege Hates Money
I wish more movies were made in Florida. It seems like such a perfect place for year-round shoots. Why don’t more movies shoot here? Oh, yeah. The Lege cut the incentive program from $25 million to $5 million in February 2008. Let’s see, what were we getting for that $25 million? “Figures show the entertainment industry brought in more than $29.2 billion to Florida’s economy in 2007, affecting more than 200,000 jobs.” Obviously, any industry that’s actually profiting and creating jobs needs to be cut.
