A Thankful Home
One day until the official day of thanks. I would love to be one of those people that is eternally grateful for each and every blessing during each and every day. I would love to cherish each moment as it passes, soaking it in, storing it in my memory of steel. But I don’t. Moments slip by, opportunities to be grateful escape unnoticed. But, I still consider myself a person who appreciates the many and abundant things around me. Even if I don’t stop and purposefully think about it each and every day and in each moment.
I am thankful for days when I can sleep in. I am thankful for mornings that I am up early and can have quiet moments to myself. I am thankful for the
DIY Holiday Shimmer Candles
This is a quick and easy craft that will shimmer up your home for the holidays. I only used things that I already had, candles from the fall season in orange, some epsom salt and mod podge. Easy peasy.
Spread some mod podge on each candle with a sponge brush, then roll the candle in epsom salt in a ratty old pan.
The result: sparkly shimmery candles for the holiday season that will instantly be upon us.
And It Was All Yellow
The painting of the house was completed over the weekend. It was all very exciting and emotional for me. Maybe it’s my old age, maybe it’s my hormones. Whatever it is, I cried. A lot. I cried thinking about when we bought this house and how ugly it was and how I couldn’t believe what we were getting ourselves into. I cried when my mom came over Saturday when the paint was up and finally admitted that she hated the old color. Um, hello. I hated it too, but that old color was what we could do at the time when I would’ve rather had a color instead of no color. It was definitely an oops paint. And I cried because I thought after all this did she not
Glimpses
Things have been busy in a mostly good way around here. Temperatures have dropped, and finally after months of melting outside, we can enjoy hours of playing without having to dump water on our heads. We’ve been enjoying autumn by taking walks.
When we’re inside, I’ve been decluttering and organizing. Ever notice how decluttering and organizing means everything gets really messy before
2 Years of Blogging
For some reason, I had thought I started this little old blog on November 17th, 2007. As I started digging to write this post, I realized that I am not ahead by writing it early, but I missed it by a few days. November 11th, 2007 I started this blog. It seems like forever ago. Many themes, many directions ago, here I am. This blog has definitely evolved over time, been remodeled if you will, along with me, my home, my life and my passions. I thank you so much for being here, for those that have been here since nearly the beginning and for those that will find me for
