Revolt Towards

Information

Blog Name: Revolt Towards

Language: unknown
Topics: love, jesus, faith
Description: The premise of revolt is so much more than a revolution. Revolt is both noun and verb and before long, it becomes clear that both the noun and the verb of revolt can and should happen simultaneously. When we speak of Revolution, it is also a thing of the past and something of the present (ie: join the revolution). However revolt as noun is something that is ongoing, is daily and is manifested through the action of revolt. But this revolt is not about overthrowing governing might or dodgy leadership. This revolt is about love. After all, love is the only thing that has ever sustained the test of time. Where hatred, slavery and oppression may last for a season, these things always succumb to life, to mercy, to love. So this revolt is towards love. Our world is against a lot of things. We protest against a lot of things. But, we hardly ever are toward a cause or an ideology. So this is a revolt towards. Towards love. Community. Each other. Towards poverty. Towards the dying and hurting. Towards the strangers. The marginalized. Towards the have-beens and the have-nots. Towards peace and non-violence. Towards spirituality and the spirit within. Towards the poor and orphaned. This is a revolt towards love; a revolt towards a new way of living.

Closing the Door On the Notion We Need Something More Than Him
So last week, I was praying for a job I had bid on. The job estimate was for a decent amount of money and my prayer was this: "God, I pray that this contract comes through because you know I need it because I need the money."  Immediately I stopped myself and stopped my prayer. "What?!" I asked myself. What was I praying? Did I even realize the words I was saying? Well, actually, I did. It hit

...Except You Ravish Me.
Ever since meeting John Donne in high school, I have always been in love with his poetry and particular, his poetic reflections on God. Below is his Holy Sonnet XIV: HOLY SONNETS. by John Donne XIV. Batter my heart, three-person'd God; for you As yet but knock; breathe, shine, and seek to mend; That I may rise, and stand, o'erthrow me, and bend Your force, to break, blow, burn, and make me new. I, like an usurp'd town, to another due, Labour to admit you, but O, to no end. Reason, your viceroy in me, me should defend,
Dive!
Check out the trailer for the new film, Dive! It's all about dumpster diving for wasted food! (I think someone I know is in the trailer. Weird).
