They just make stuff up as they go along
Wow. The Projo editors are so scared at being called out for their lack of ethics they even have to make stuff up when they chastise people writing letters to the editor. In today's free online version of the Journal, Michele Gousie of Bristol takes the Journal on for their hap hazard and politically motivated spin on whether State Senator John Tassoni would be an arbitrator. In response, they let rip with this doozy:Editor's note: We know the difference between the two. The Oct. 21 editorial "Sen. Tassoni's new job?" referred
Make sure the House pushes forward - call NOW
The insurance industry, the Michelle Bachman crowd, and a host of other right-wing interests are pushing as hard as they can to kill the House health care bill by any means necessary. Rhode Island Reps. Patrick Kennedy and Jim Langevin are still encouraging their undecided colleagues to support the bill. CALL YOUR RI CONGRESSPERSON RIGHT NOW to say "Thank you for fighting for health care reform and keep working to pass HR3962!" We don't want this weekend to end without a health care bill - and we need them to keep pushing for it. Call NOW Rep. Jim Langevin - 202-225-2735Rep. Patrick Kennedy - 202-225-4911I promise you tha

Interesting.
Why I canceled my Projo subscription
Earlier this week, I canceled my subscription to the Providence Journal. I did this for a number of reasons. One reason, which should be self evident in the modern age: why should I pay for something that I can get for free? Seems silly to me. But more importantly, and more directly, their vendetta against classroom teachers and all of organized labor too much to pay for. Again today, there is an editorial against teachers that is devoid of fact, based upon misinformation, and down right nasty. Let's look at today's editorial.
Too much forgetting allowed.
In 1660, Mary Dyer was hanged on Boston Common. Her crime? Being a Quaker. Her execution was part of a tragic and shameful chapter in our nation's history. So why is there a statue of her in front of the Massachusetts State Capitol east wing? Proponents of removing "Providence Plantations" from our state's name might ask themselves this question. The statue was erected in 1959, and it wasn't put there because the Massachusetts legislature approved of her execution. No, it was put there because legislators there thought it important that people remember the example of her courageous life, her devotion to freedom of conscience (she traveled back to Massachusetts in protest of t
