Writers, Agents and Editors are people too
I know there’s been a lot of hubbub out there lately about how long it takes for writers to respond, agents to send out rejects or requests and editors to get back to you. I know where you’re coming from, I really do. But these are not programs and automatons.
Today on Twitter I saw a post that really drove this home for me.
HeatherWilson: Skipping a writer conference I’m supposed to teach at to go out with my friend who finished chemo. She has a double mastectomy next week.
Some things are just more important than queries and partials and even books.

As much as the electoral college has come under fire in the last, oh, nine or so years it’s there for a reason and the recent votes in California, Washington and Maine prove it. The votes are hairline, almost completely split at 50/50. See the thing is I don’t think the vote is speaking for the people. I think a very vocal minority has bullied the state and made it their obligation to try to determine the morality of the masses.
So, this brings me to two points. One: Hey GLBT community, did you show up? Did you vote? Because a small slice of people can’t win this fight for you. Y
