Description: I am a 12-year runner and counting, food and wine lover, first-time mom-to-be, wife, registered dietitian (RD), writer and dog lover. Follow me on my blog as I share my adventures as a pregnant runner, and soon, my "new mom" running adventures. My posts, and my running, will mentally get me through my pregnancy and the new world of motherhood I'm about to enter. Oh, and what does "runbuggy" mean? To me, many things. Overall, I have a "bug" and it's running. I can't shake it. I bet I never will!

Welcome to the World Baby B!
I wanted to write this post all week, but have found only a few minutes in the day, if any at all, to turn my computer on. Five days prior to my due date, October 19, 2009 at 2:03 AM, Robert Austin (formerly known as ‘Baby B’) entered this world with a healthy, hearty cry.  At birth, Robert weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces and was 22 inches in length.  Reflecting back on the experience only one short week ago evokes many emotions.
One week to go!
It’s funny how one day I will be wiped out and sleeping late, then the next day the complete opposite. This morning my husband was up before 5AM. I laid in bed feeling like I was ready to start the day, but my brain was telling me it’s early and I should sleep. I didn’t listen to my brain. I got out of bed around 5:30 and figured, Well, I might as well squeeze in one more spin class. My gym plan for today was to go it alone on the elliptical or treadmill. But since I was awake in time for the 6:30 AM class, I went for it. I was hungry on the bike this mor
Sleeping in like a slacker
This morning was gray and cold. Everyone keeps telling me to enjoy my sleep now with Baby B shortly on the way. But I am not a late sleeper. I love waking up early and working out first thing in the A.M. But this morning I decided there was nothing I wanted to do more but lay in bed for as long as possible.
I threw it on the ground!
Temper tantrums, I believe, are all a part of being pregnant. And why shouldn’t they be? Hormones are fluctuating.  Your belly, boobs, butt and other body parts are growing in ways you never imagined. Clothes stop fitting. Forget about good days and bad days – while pregnant, there are good moments and bad moments!
Up all night… sleep all day…
By Alison Does anyone remember that song Up All Night by the 80’s hair band Slaughter? Well, it’s in my head now because last night I was, literally, up all night. And to think, Baby B isn’t even here yet to keep me awake at all hours. I received a letter from my OB’s office a few weeks ago urging all of their pregnant patients to get the seasonal flu and H1N1 (swine) flu shot. I never got a flu shot in my life. Every year I get one really bad cold, but I’m not sure I’ve ever had the flu, so I never bothered with the shot.
