The Passenger Begins Its Journey
As I mentioned earlier, this past Tuesday we were lucky enough to be invited to the media preview of The Passenger. The newest location of libations from the Brown Brothers looks to be a great addition to the city.

If you’ve been keeping tabs on the DC bar/cocktail scene, no doubt you’ve heard of The Passenger. The Passenger is Tom and Derek Brown’s new watering hole and house of libations. Tom, formerly of Cork Wine Bar, will be working the front bar serving beer, wine and cocktails. But don’t expect a cocktail menu! Much as he constructed cocktails at Cork, Tom will make cocktails around what the individual customer wants. Looking for something citrus-y with a rye base? Maybe something bitter forward? Reading & Drinking
First off – happy belated two year anniversary to us! I admit we maybe haven’t been blogging perhaps as much as we should be, and I’m trying to get off my tookus and do more. Tales of the Cocktail and that trip to Korea broke my rhythm! But the good news is that I’m finally working things out right again. I think. Ask me that again in a week.
Second off – Phil Greene alerted us to this post covering the cocktails from the DC bracket of the Domaine de Canton competition. I know I’ve tried a couple of those – the Domainatrix by Rachel Sergi, now over at Againn
A Little On-Line Love
City Creative, a blog based out of Pittsburgh, PA which focuses on the creative goings-on in PGH, interviewed our good friend and fellow cocktail blogger Craig “Dr. Bamboo” Mrusek. The interview discusses Craig’s work as a booze blogger and as an illustrator. If you’ve come across my Mountain Moonshine Bitters or Sean’s homemade Amer Picon, Craig designed the labels for both products and they came out beautiful!

Celebrating 76 years since Prohibition, the DC Bartenders Guild is throwing the 2nd Annual Repeal Day Ball on December 5th. This year the festivities are being held at one of the Scofflaw’s favorite haunts, PS7 from 9pm til Midnight.
