| Description: |
Adam Bruce has been an automotive and motorcycle enthusiast since his Matchbox collections days. He’s even managed to integrate his passion for stuff on wheels into gainful employment. Even better, since relocating from the traffic-clogged roads of Atlanta, GA to the equally movement-challenged freeways of Los Angeles, he’s discovered why Southern California is truly two wheel nirvana. It’s called legal lane splitting.
Whether he’s scooter commuting in Los Angeles proper, cruising the canyons or headed to Orange County to check out a classic car meet, getting there on a Vespa isn’t just fun, more often than not its faster than in a car. |

Pint Sized Grocery-Getter
Okay so I know that I can’t carry my normal amount of groceries on the GTS but it makes carrying small items a breeze. I was somewhat skeptical of carrying goods while riding but the Vespa surprisingly has quite a a fair amount of storage space. On days when I only need a few items I found it fairly easy to just jump on the scooter as opposed to my car. The clever bag hook keeps items secure without impeding on on leg room.

It was somewhat of a movie moment as I’m walking out to move the Vespa because my 2 hour limit was nearly up. Unfortunately I didn’t pay attention to the rest of the sign and came out to the sight of a street sweeper moving ever-so slowly around my black GTS 300 and a Prius driving parking enforcement p
Scooter Respect
Motorcycle riders have a “code” of respect for one another. When you pass another motorcyclist, it is customary to acknowledge the other rider with a head nod or a hand gesture. I found it interesting now that I have been riding a smaller two-wheeled machine, the

This past Sunday after watching week one of NFL football, I was walking out of one of the many sports bars lining Main St. in Huntington Beach and was filled with a bit of delight and envy. In front of me was a very large group of scooters riding together displaying a sense of comradery that I did not even know exist
From 8 cylinders to 1
For the last 13 months I’ve been driving my 346 ci V8 Pontiac Trans Am and in contrast I’ve been riding the 1 cylinder Vespa GTS 300 Super to and from work for the last week. West Los Angeles traffic is very hectic at times. Case in point: I live 7.2 miles from work and on a good day it takes me at minimum 22 minutes and approximately 1/2 gallon of gas each direction (but it’s fun doin
