Another day....another Euro
Starting off todays post with a little gloating...I got my payslip today! Ok so its not that interesting.....but it does mean come friday I can start another month buying lots of things I want but don't need. Nevertheless, I didnt write this post to boast about being paid. I did however write it to highlight how darn expensive it is to live here!I have to admit, Ive always thought of France as quite an expensive country, even before the pound went 'tits up'. However it is shockingly expensive to buy everyday items here considering that we are so close to the UK. You wouldnt think that countries which are so close to each other would have such a high difference in price, but boyo

Sorry.....
I have not posted in a while and I give a full appology to you now.....Anyway...It was an interesting week last week. If I think about it fully its the first week since I got here where I have worked all of the hours that I am supposed to and not had a day off to meet such and such a consulate and the like. I love the French education authority!I have decided to make this post pro-France as I read through most of my other posts and decided that maybe Im bashing the French a little too much. I do like France...in fact I love it really. Ok there is definately a lack of SNP members out here to go for a pint with, but maybe spending some time away from the propaganda of
Beaurocracy.....surely not?
As uninteresting as beaurocracy is, it makes for very interesting times for anyone coming to live in France. I was warned of this before I arrived. However, this has to be experienced to be believed. Don't get me wrong; I love France and I love lots of things about French culture. By no means would I consider myself a Francophobe or for that matter a Europhobe. Nevertheless, it is not difficult to see why many people who spend any time in France could be persueded to think like this. One of the main reasons for this can be explained in one word; beaurocracy!Even the smallest of tasks in France requires a MOUNTAIN of paperwork or forms of identity. For example on purchasing a pay
Back in the Windy City
Well I left Scotland (again) at 4 o clock yesterday morning and arrived in Avignon at.......9 at night. I just love travelling! Nevertheless my time at home was a good laugh if not a little too quick. However I am now back in the windy city of Avignon until late december, by which time I will likely have struck several of my pupils with something blunt (i joke) and will be dying for a bottle of Brewdog! Regular updating of this blog will pretty much be full steam ahead now as I have working internet again! Yeppee! So whats in store for the rest of my day.....well bugger all really. I was up at 7 this morning for an 8 o clock class when I was only needed for 20 mins..
