When I started this blog in 2006, I initially envisioned it as a place for quick posts on tips and tricks I picked up while studying during medical school. However, over time, the posts came to include interesting medical stories I came across as well as my opinions on various matters. Some of the more popular posts involved my trying to answer questions that the resources I studied from did not seem to answer completely. Not too surprisingly, other people had similar issues as well.
Over time, it became clear that some topics kept recurring. In particular, readers have many questions about USMLE Step 1. Many posts detail my advice as well as describing my experience taking the exam. For those of you who have already taken Step 1, feel free to comment about your experiences - there are many ways to ace a test! Of course, the Step 1 readers come back a year later for advice on USMLE Step 2 CK and USMLE Step 2 CS, and then two years later for USMLE Step 3 tips. Lastly, residency-related posts as well as posts regarding a career in medicine and how to chart one's way through various career choices have proven popular. As the blog evolves over time, I am certain more topics will be discussed.
