Talking our way to a better place
We are used to a media that encourages verbal combat between two or more opposing positions, despite other discussion formats being more engaging. Not that I don’t see the value of debate, but I think that the effect of it, though informative, does not encourage a culture of constructive and practical dialogue. This in turn does no real favours to a society which laments the dominance of spin and the asks for more transparency and authenticity in public life.
