A former Aide to House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Shepherd has held many leadership positions within the GOP including being elected at the 2001 Republican State Convention at the age of 25 the youngest person in Georgia GOP history to serve as a Vice-Chairman of the Georgia Republican Party. He is a frequent speaker on political trends and political communication, and has lecturered on those topics to political science and journalism students at Georgia State University and the University of Georgia. Shepherd served as an Alternate to the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York and a Delegate to the 2008 Republican National Convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul. Shepherd started blogging when asked by the Atlanta Journal Constitution to maintain a blog for the paper from the 2004 Republican National Convention. Shepherd's Political Pie began (and is still mirrored on) Fox 5 Atlanta's website as one of two bloggers covering the 2008 convention for Atlanta's Fox affiliate. Dear President Obama,I know you are depressed about the recent departure from your administration of Van Jones, the Green Jobs Czar. I am quite sure that his untimely departure has left a hole in your Czarist system of unaccountable administrative officials. However, I know you will soon find a replacement and America will once again have someone to govern the oh so important Green Job Movement from their desk in the White House.I have to admit, I never realized that there were so many potential Czars out there.
