Bill 179: The Zero Hour
It is hard to write this post without sounding alarmist, but if you have not yet written to the Ontario Government and opposition parties expressing your concern with Bill 179, the time to write is now. Not tomorrow. Now. If you'd like a primer as to why this is an important issue, I recommend you read a previous post of mine, titled, "Why Bill 179 Matters"
Let me explain:
A little over two weeks ago, Scott Gavura blew the whistle on this issue, and the story has been making the news in the
A Skeptic North Response to the Naturopaths' Rebuttal
Last week, a Skeptic North article was adapted and printed in the National Post. Highly critical of a proposal to grant naturopaths the right to prescribe, it generated a heated response both at the Post and here at Skeptic North. While I could come up with a list of questionable reporting by British Columbia’s “corporate” newspapers…I’m going to reserve most
Problems Within Canadian Skepticism
Right now, a war is being waged in the halls of Ontario legislature as to whether or not naturopaths should be given the privilege of writing medical prescriptions. While there are a number of huge problems with this, I am neither a doctor nor a pharmacist and, as a result, know very little about the topic. I will defer commentary on this issue to smarter men than I.What I wanted to touch on this week is a related problem in Canadian skepticism.
