Attending ER'09 - The 28th Int.Conf. on Conceptual modeling
Today I'm heading to Gramado (Brazil) to attend the ER'09 conference where I'll be presenting the paper "Modelling Safe Interface Interactions in Web Applications" and the tool demo "UMLtoSBVR: an SBVR-based tool for the validation of UML Conceptual Schemas (plus, thanks to brazilian immigration officers a paper from an Iranian-Canadian colleague)
(Re)discovering the business rules manifesto
I recently (re)discovered the Business Rules Manifesto that states the importance of business rules and how they should be defined/processed. Some of my favourite articles in the manifesto: Rules are a first-class citizen of the requirements world. Rules must be explicit. No rule is ever assumed about any concept or fact. Rules should be expressed declaratively in natural-language sentences for the business audience.
Retrieving portal content using taxonomy terms - fixed
Each post/article in the portal is tagged using one or more vocabulary terms defined in my modeling taxonomy. Clicking on the term will retrieve a view page listing all drupal nodes (i.e. posts+articles) tagged with the same term. Until now, clicking on the term redirected the user to an error page but now I've managed to fix the problem (at least temporarily, it seems it is not clear yet what makes Drupal to generate wrong aliases for the terminology terms). Hope you enjoy a new way of browse the site
Doing a little bit of meta code-generation - code-generation of a code-generator
I'm right now using my UML2DB generator to create some additional tables that will be used by the generator itself. I wonder if I could define what I'm doing as "meta code generation" (i.e. code-generation of a code-generator), or using an English expression "eating my own dog food"
